Glossary¶
Domain and platform terminology used throughout this handbook.
A¶
- Admin
- Tenant-level role with full permissions inside a single company. Not the same as
PegotecUser. See Admin handbook. - Asset
- An individual piece of equipment (pump, motor, compressor) in the plant. Part of the asset hierarchy.
- Asset hierarchy
- The five-level structure that organises physical equipment: Production Site → Line → Section → Asset → Task point. See Asset hierarchy (web portal).
C¶
- Company
- A single tenant in the platform. All data is scoped to a company. A user normally belongs to exactly one company (PegotecUser is the exception).
- Component
- A reusable definition describing a type of equipment — its options (unit, type, text_type) and the tasks that apply to it. Distinct from an Asset, which is a physical instance.
D¶
- Draft
- A task in progress on the mobile app, saved locally but not yet submitted. See Task drafts.
I¶
- Installation
- A deployed environment of the platform. Typically one per customer company (or per environment: production / staging / development).
L¶
- Line
- A production line inside a site. Second level of the asset hierarchy.
M¶
- Mapper
- Role responsible for building and maintaining the asset hierarchy, tasks, components, and safety procedures. See Mapper handbook.
- Master data
- Reference tables that tasks and components depend on: thresholds, units, products, tools, repair-request types, shutdown reasons.
N¶
- NFC tag
- A near-field-communication tag physically attached to equipment. Scanning it opens the matching task point on the mobile app.
O¶
- Offline-first
- The mobile app works fully without a network connection. Data syncs automatically when connectivity returns.
- OEE
- Overall Equipment Effectiveness. A manufacturing performance metric covering availability, performance, and quality. One of the platform's standard reports.
P¶
- PegotecUser
- The only role that can see data across multiple companies. Used by Pegotec operations staff for cross-tenant support. See PegotecUser handbook.
- Production site
- A physical factory or plant. The top level of the asset hierarchy.
R¶
- Repair request
- A submission from a technician reporting an equipment failure. Triaged by Supervisors / Admins. Distinct from a task.
S¶
- Safety procedure
- An ordered list of safety measures that a technician must acknowledge before executing a task.
- Section
- A subdivision of a production line (for example, "motor side", "drive side"). Third level of the asset hierarchy.
- Shutdown
- An equipment or line stop — planned or emergency. Reported from the field and tracked for OEE and incident reporting.
- Shutdown report
- A technician's submission describing a shutdown (reason, start time, end time, affected equipment).
- Supervisor
- Role responsible for assigning tasks and approving completed work. See Supervisor handbook.
T¶
- Task
- A unit of maintenance work: electrical, lubrication, mechanical, production, or repair request.
- Task point
- The most granular node in the asset hierarchy — the specific measurement or inspection point on an asset. The node a task is attached to.
- Tenant
- Synonymous with company. A single customer's scope of data.
- Threshold
- A configured min / max value for a measurement. When a technician enters a value outside the threshold, the form highlights it.
- Technician
- Role responsible for executing tasks in the field. See Technician handbook.
V¶
- Viewer
- Read-only role for auditors and compliance. See Viewer handbook.
