Switching production sites¶
Use the production-site switcher in the header to scope the whole portal to a single site — or back to all of them.
Required role
Any web-portal role with access to more than one production site.
Overview¶
If your company runs more than one production site, the header has a production-site dropdown. It sets which site's data you're looking at across the entire portal — the dashboard, reports, planning, mapping, and shutdowns all follow it. Switch sites once in the header instead of re-filtering page by page.
The dropdown defaults to All Production Sites, so when you sign in you see everything you're allowed to see.
Where to find it¶
Look in the header, near the search and notification icons. It shows the current scope — either All Production Sites or the name of the site you've switched into.
You only see the sites you're allowed to access. On a single-site company, the switcher may not appear at all — there's nothing to switch between.
Switch sites¶
- Open the production-site dropdown in the header.
- Pick a site to scope the portal to that site, or pick All Production Sites to clear the scope.
The change takes effect immediately and applies to every page:
- The Dashboard counts and widgets recalculate for the chosen site.
- Reports, Daily Planning, Mapping, and Shutdowns show only that site's data.
- Per-page filters still work on top of the header scope — for example, you can scope to one site in the header, then filter to one line within it.
Your selection sticks as you move between pages, so you stay in the same site until you change it.
What changed from the old dashboard¶
The portal used to have a per-card site dropdown on the dashboard — you picked a site separately for the dashboard widgets. That dropdown has been removed. Site scoping is now handled in one place: the header switcher. Set it once and the whole portal — dashboard included — follows.
Things to watch for¶
Check the switcher before you read the numbers
It's easy to leave the switcher on one site, come back later, and misread a half-empty dashboard as a quiet day. Glance at the header scope before drawing conclusions — the same habit as checking the date range.
All Production Sites is the default
Every sign-in starts at All Production Sites. If a page looks emptier than expected, check whether you (or a colleague on a shared account) left the switcher scoped to one site.
The switcher scopes, it doesn't grant access
You can only switch into sites your account is allowed to see. If a site you need is missing from the dropdown, ask your Admin to scope your account to it — see User management.
Troubleshooting¶
| Problem | Fix |
|---|---|
| The switcher isn't in the header | Your company has only one site, or your account is scoped to one site — there's nothing to switch |
| A site is missing from the dropdown | Your account isn't scoped to it; ask your Admin to add it in User management |
| The dashboard looks empty | The switcher may be scoped to a quiet site — set it back to All Production Sites |
| Reports and dashboard disagree | They're scoped to different sites — line up the header switcher first |
